Description
Studio portrait of 699 Corporal (later Sergeant) Hector Charles Long (alias Nestor Charles Warwick), 40th Battalion. A carpenter of Hobart, Tasmania, he enlisted on 26 January 1916 and sailed with C Company aboard HMAT Berrima on 1 July 1916. He was killed in action, aged 23, on 28 March 1918. He is buried at Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'Abbe, France.
