Square piece of wood autographed by members of 2/1 Pioneer Battalion at Milne Bay on 30 May 1943. The following names and phrases have been deciphered: NX34898 Major Charles Geoffrey Williams; 'DATE WHO CARES!'; 'PLATES MILNE BAY MK II'; NX12484 Lieutenant Gordon Stanley Osborn; '1943 (I think)' NX18628 Private Thomas Mervyn Buckley; '1943 (We Hope)'; NX45328 Private Allan Kenneth Caban; '30 May '43 Perhaps'; NX69857 Private Percival John Steiner and NX24681 Private Neil Alfred Byron. A hole has been made through the top of the piece of wood and written on the back is 'Williams'.
