Woven cloth patch : Royal Australian Engineers
Description
Woven cloth patch of the Royal Australian Engineers. This circular patch is machine embroidered in royal blue cotton with a dark blue border, and features the emblem of the Royal Australian Engineers: a crown above a blue garter on which the words, 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE' are embroidered in yellow. Within the garter is, 'ER II', also embroidered in yellow. Surrounding the garter is a wreath with red berries and below is a red scroll with the words, 'ROYAL AUSTRALIAN ENGINEERS' embroidered in yellow.
History / Summary
An unoffical patch incorporating the embelm of the Royal Australian Engineers. The motto, 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE' means 'shame be to him who thinks evil of it'.
