Barra sonar buoy
Description

History / Summary
The Barra sonar buoy is an aircraft dropped listening device using hydrophones to listen for the sounds made by a submarine. The sonar buoy is operated by the Royal Australian Air Force and the Royal Australian Navy in the undersea defence role during maritime reconnaissance missions.
