Frilled neck lizard
Description
This gargoyle depicts the face of a frilled neck lizard. It is situated in the Commemorative Courtyard of the Australian War Memorial. In 1940-41, a stonemason carved this piece based on a plaster model created in c. 1939 by sculptor William Leslie Bowles.
