Group studio portrait of ten soldiers, members of the 7th Reinforcements, 1st Australian Light Horse Regiment, who embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Marere on 16 August 1915. Identified, left to right, back row: 1105 Trooper (Tpr) Frederick Gustave Newman; 1082 Tpr Richard Dangar Bond; 1105 Tpr Francis August Newman; 1068 Trp Stanley James Cross; 1115 Tpr Charles Reeves. Front row: 1117 Tpr Alexander Smail; 1109 Tpr Bartholomew George Pearson; 1101 Tpr Vivian Roy Morrow, (who was killed in action on 4 August 1916 in Egypt), sitting with crossed legs; 1097 Tpr William Gordon Lincoln, and 1087 Tpr Robert Wilkinson Crawshaw.
