Informal portrait of Australian Police Officer Delia Quigley with a number of Haitian locals, incuding children, next to a street stall selling handbags. She is one of three female police officers to serve with the Multinational Force (MNF), Haiti, which was authorised by the Security Council of the United Nations and was instructed to bring about the end to the regime that ousted the country's democratically elected government in 1991, and ensure the return of President Aristide. The MNF was authorised in July 1994, was led by the United States and included police officers from a number of countries including Australia. It was in Haiti until 31 March 1995 when the United Nations Mission in Haiti (UNMIH) formally took over. The MNF was the first overseas mission where Australian Police Officers were armed. Delia Quigley also served with Police Contingents to peacekeeping operations in East Timor (October 1999 - December 1999) and Cyprus (February 2000 - November 2000).
