Members of 1 Platoon, A Company, 8RAR, set out on what is probably their first patrol on their first operation in Vietnam, Operation Atherton. They are heading out from Fire Support Base (FSB) Peggy in Area of Operations (AO) Zulu. Operation Atherton is a reconnaissance and ambush operation in the northwest of the province.
