Description

At right, two unidentified members of D Company, 6RAR/NZ (ANZAC) Battalion (comprising the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment and a component of the 1st Battalion, the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment), keep their rifles and other gear above the water as they wade across a flooded stream during a patrol with troops of 3/52 Battalion of 18 Division of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN). Two other diggers at left are about to follow their mates across the stream. Under the new policy of pacification, the patrol forms part of the training of the South Vietnamese soldiers, as diggers from 6RAR/NZ try to impart to them correct and safe infantry tactics.
