Informal portrait of 25761 Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2) Lester Noel Bootes, Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV), of Villawood, NSW (formerly of Orange, NSW). WO2 Bootes wears the badge of an Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) non-commissioned officer tank crewman on his black beret in addition to the badge of the Royal Australian Armoured Corps. On the pocket of his left sleeve he wears the patch of the 7th Armoured Cavalry Squadron, the ARVN unit to which he is attached. This unit operated around the city of Hue in the northern part of South Vietnam.
