Description

Montagnard ‘Nam Phe’ Rice Wine Ceremony. The ceremony was made to make presentations to those Montagnard Special Forces individuals who were responsible for the capture of 317 individual weapons, 33 crew served weapons, two 75 MM Chicom Recoilless Rifles, one 57 MM Chicom Recoilless Rifle, one 82 MM Mortar. The two people concerned in the ceremony are Major (Maj) Mervyl C McMillian, of Camden, New Jersey, USA and the United States Special Forces Commander, with him is Maj Cam Ngoc Huan his South Vietnamese counterpart. The soldier in the Montagnard Chiefs outfit is Sergeant First Class Victor C Underwood, of Watsonville, California, USA. Sgt FC Underwood, has been made a Chief of the Rhade because of his acceptance by the Montagnards. The Company Commander of 122 Company Rhade Montagnards who captured the weapons. The little Montagnard Chief is his counterpart Y’Hueh Knui, from Ban Me Thuot.
