Standing at a trestle table that serves as an altar, three chaplains conduct a memorial service for 219663 Trooper (Tpr) David Gerard Doyle who was accidentally killed in Phuoc Tuy Province on 31 July 1970. Ranged on two sides around the padres are members of Tpr Doyle's unit, B Squadron, 3 Cavalry Regiment. About 140 men are attending the inter-denominational service, many of them having been briefly relieved of operational commitments so that they could return to the 1ATF base for the commemoration of their fallen comrade.
