Description
Fully armed, members of D (Delta) Company, 8RAR, assemble in platoons at unit lines before they march off to board Iroquois helicopters of No. 9 Squadron RAAF. The choppers will transport the men to the northern section of Phuoc Tuy Province where they will take part in Phase II of Operation Nudgee in collaboration with B and C Companies and the US 2nd Infantry Brigade, 25th Infantry Division. The Americans are to sweep a large area in the central west of the province looking for the Viet Cong D440 Provincial Mobile Battalion, with D Company to occupy a blocking position to the northeast of the Area of Operations.
