Description
With an M16 Armalite Rifle slung across him, an unidentified member of D (Delta) Company, 8RAR, has refilled or is about to refill his water bottle as he stands knee deep in a stream in deep jungle. Delta Company is taking part in Phase II of Operation Nudgee in collaboration with B and C Companies and the US 2nd Infantry Brigade, 25th Infantry Division. The Americans are sweeping a large area in the central west of the province looking for the Viet Cong D440 Provincial Mobile Battalion, with D Company occupying a blocking position to the northeast of the Area of Operations.
