Description

Three unidentified members of the Defence and Employment (D&E) Platoon of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) pause to look at the dead body of a Viet Cong guerrilla lying on the dirt road known as Route 328 as they walk past. The man was one of eleven Viet Cong killed the previous night when a section of the D&E Platoon and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) of 2 Troop, B Squadron, 3 Cavalry Regiment, ambushed a party of over fifty enemy troops on the southern outskirts of the abandoned village of Thua Tich about 24 kilometres north east of the 1ATF base at Nui Dat.
