Description
A crew member of an Iroquois helicopter with call sign 771 from No. 9 Squadron RAAF leans out the door and peers beneath the aircraft as two engineers from 1 Field Squadron RAE unroll 44-gallon drums of fuel from a large underslung cargo net in which the chopper has just delivered the barrels. The delivery is taking place at Night Defensive Position (NDP) Beverley about 30 kilometres east of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) at Nui Dat. The fuel is to be used by Field Squadron engineers to set fire to enemy rice padis and vegetable gardens as part of Operation Massey Harris, a food-denial operation.
