Description
During Phase 2 of Operation Bondi I, a stream of villagers from the hamlet of Duc My walks along a road to a screening area between Binh Ba and Duc Trung where their identities will be checked by members of 1st Division Intelligence Unit. The villagers include children as well as adults. An Australian soldier is walking down the road (left), while in the background stand a tent, some Land Rovers and an M113A1 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) with call sign 8 of B Squadron, 3 Cavalry Regiment. The task set for the operation, which is mainly being conducted by 5RAR, is to cordon and search the hamlets making up Binh Ba village, whose adult inhabitants are employed in the local French-owned rubber plantation.
