Hoang Hai, Chieu Hoi, a bushman scout and 437234 Captain (Capt) Kevin Taylor, of Canberra, ACT, Australian Forces Vietnam, Cash Office. Capt Taylor is paying the bushman scout while his Commanding Officer, Hoang Hai, looks on. The head and shoulder shots were taken as Hoang Hai was asked a series of questions relating to how he got to where he was at that time, the facial expressions tell the tale. Note The insignia on Hoang Hai’s right arm, the crown over the corporals stripes, which caused a storm in Canberra when a picture was published in Australia. A signal was sent, from Canberra, demanding the insignia be removed, immediately, and replaced with an appropriate sensible insignia.
