Description

A soldier looks on a replica of a Viet Cong booby trap that is used as an aid in the instruction of Infantry Corps trainees at the Australian Army's Infantry Centre. The improvised weapon consists of short lengths of timber joined together and infixed with sharpened bamboo spikes called punji sticks. It is spring-loaded and is designed to swing out and smash into an unwary soldier walking along a track.
