Studio portrait surmounted by reverse painted glass of 2899 Private (Pte) Albert Henry Fleetwood, 46th Battalion, of Tamworth, NSW. A milk vendor prior to enlisting on 20 September 1916, Pte Fleetwood embarked from Sydney, NSW, on 17 November 1916 aboard SS Port Napier. Pte Fleetwood served in France and Belgium where he was wounded on 7 June 1917, and he later died of those wounds on 12 June 1917, and is buried in the Bailleul Communal Cemetery in France. The glass is painted with a banner on which is written "a son of the Empire" over the commonwealth emblem. A waratah and flannel flowers, and the Australian and Union Jack flags are painted to the sides of the portrait. Pennants or colours are crossed at the base of the glass under a shield of the 46th Battalion's colours of yellow and blue.
