Studio portrait of 522 Private (Pte) Charles Stanley Buckeridge, C Company, 3rd Battalion, of Wollongong, NSW. A carpenter prior to enlistment he embarked from Sydney on HMAT Euripides on 20 October 1914. Pte Buckeridge was slightly wounded in the landing at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915, and resumed duty two weeks later. Four months later he was killed in action on 7 August 1915, aged 22. Pte Buckeridge has been ccommemorated the at Lone Pine Cemetery (Special memorial C. 15), Gallipoli.
