Informal portrait of three airmen enjoying a bike ride around their airfield. Identified are: 403049 Flying Officer (FO) Keith Munro Gamble (left); 404062 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Arthur John (Nat) Gould (centre) and 403084 Flying Officer (FO) Bruce Duddridge Watson (right). There is a Kittyhawk aircraft in the background. FO Gamble, of Sydney, NSW, enlisted on 9 December 1940, serving with a number of squadrons. He was discharged on 16 October 1945 with the rank of Flight Lieutenant of No 8 Operational Training Unit. Flt Sgt Gould, of Roma, Qld, enlisted on 29 April 1940 serving with a number of squadrons. He was discharged on 16 June 1945 with the rank of Flight Lieutenant of No 2 Operational Training Unit. FO Watson of Strathfield, NSW, enlisted on 9 December 1940, serving with a number of squadrons. He was discharged on 6 December 1945 with the rank of Squadron Leader of No 457 Squadron. In June 1946 he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for “courage and determination in his flying operations”.
