Sei o motte sokoku [Live for Japan]
Description
(1) J2 - A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to Sandakan. (2) Live for Japan J2 - An English translation of the text is attached. The message stresses that to live can be harder than to die but the motherland will need her people to reconstruct Japan when peace comes. It mentions that Tokyo radio (Radio Broadcasting) reported that 600 Japanese POWs in Sandakan were treated well by the British.
