Kôgun shôhei ni tsugu: Sanbô Honbu sakusen o ayamaru [To officers and men of the Imperial Japanese Army: the General Staff has bungled things].
Description
A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to Melanesia and Netherlands East Indies. An English translation of the text is attached. It reports that Japan has achieved very little in the ongoing war, compared with the Russo-Japanese war which resulted in the acquisition of large territories within 19 months with limited casualties. The message attributes the stagnant situation to the poor strategic planning of the General Staff and the Japanese military recruitment system which disregards the talent of soldiers without formal education.
