Kôgun shôhei ni tsugu [To officers and men of the Mikado's forces].
Description
A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to New Guinea. It is accompanied by an English translation of the text. The message on the leaflet describes the plight of the Japanese troops in New Guinea and blames poor planning by the General Staff for the misery. It urges Japanese officers and men to surrender rather than to die uselessly in the jungle. 20,000 were printed.
