Nihongun e no keikoku irasutoga [Lanterns with warnings to soldiers].
Description
A pictorial propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office and distributed to Melanesia during the Second World War. The English translation notes that the leaflet is designed to cause among Japanese troops in isolated and dangerous positions distrust against their own military leaders. Five Japanese lanterns are drawn on each side of the leaflet. On one side, there are short phrases warning about espionage. The messages on the other side of the leaflet criticise the inability of the Japanese military leadership.
