Kôgun shôhei ni tsugu [To officers and men of the Imperial Japanese Army].
Description
A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to Melanesia and the Netherlands East Indies. It is accompanied by an English translation of the text. The message on the leaflet points out that the Japanese Field Service Code (Senjinkun) is silent about what to do when being defeated and the Japanese High Command was prepared only for victory. The message says that Japanese officers and men should be entitled to make their own decision to surrender, now that the Japanese Army is beaten and surviving men and groups are completely isolated.
