A propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. The item is written in Japanese and was distributed to Melanesia and the Netherlands East Indies. An English translation of the text is attached. The purpose of this leaflet was to provide information on the war and news from the homefront. This issue is dated on 18 October 1943 and covers the death of Court Lady Yanagiwara Nii no Tsubone (mother of Emperor Taishô), the submarine attack on Kongô Maru, the sentencing of both foreign and Japanese spies, outcomes of the domestic reinforcement policy, the massive Allied air raid on Rabaul on 12 October, the retreat of the Japanese forces from Vella Lavella and Kolombangara Islands and the advance of the Allied troops towards Madang. It also reports the declaration of war on Germany by Italy.
