Inkan Rabauru ni ari [The Omen of Rabaul].
Description
A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to Bougainville and New Guinea. It is accompanied by an English translation of the text. The leaflet details the shipping losses suffered by the Japanese on 2 November at Rabaul. It reports that the lost shipping capacity amounted to 94,000 tons in total. The messages warns Japanese soldiers in New Guinea and Bougainville that, if the Japanese are losing their ships at the current rate, there may not be enough ships to evacuate them when the time comes. The message blames the Japanese High Command for leading Japan into the war.
