Description

A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to Gilbert Islands, Marshall Islands, Saipan, Truk Island, Rabaul, and Kavieng. It is accompanied by an English translation of the text. The leaflet details the recent defeats of the Japanese forces in the Gilbert Islands, the Marshalls, Truk and Saipan. The Allied air bombing of Kavieng and Rabaul is also mentioned. The message warns Japanese troops that the main theatre of the war is steadily moving closer to the Japanese mainland. The back page of the leaflet has a map of the Asia-Pacific region indicating the areas recaptured by the Australian and the American forces.
