Studio portrait of NX24055 Private (Pte) Charles Beecroft Mountain, 2/20th Battalion, of Paddington, NSW (originally of Moreton, England). He emrbarked on 3 June 1940. Pte Mountain was killed in action in Malaya on 9 February 1942, aged 38. He is buried in the Kranji War Cemetery.
