Carved wooden panel featuring on one side, an army staff officer and on the other a battlefield landscape scene with two machine gunners in the foreground and the words, DAWN PATROL'.
History / Summary
Wooden panel made and carved in the years following the First World War by Hans Walton. Hans Walton was born in the Melbourne suburb of Ascot Vale in 1895. He was working as a carpenter and serving as a member of the Militia (58th Infantry) when he enlisted in the AIF on 15 July 1915. 7384 Private Hans Walton served with 2 Casualty Clearing Station and 29 Dental Unit and returned to Australia in May 1919.
