Feb '67 - Bryan O'Donnell setting up Claymore mine on Horse Shoe Hill
Description
4717548 Private Bryan O'Donnell, 11 Platoon, D Company, 5th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR) sets up a M18A1 Claymore Anti Personnel, Directional Fragmentation Mine at Horseshoe Hill, 1km north of the village of Dat Do in Phouc Tuy province. The Horseshoe was used as a Fire Support Base (FSB) by the Royal Australian Artillery (RAA), firing in support of the Australian infantry operating in the Phuoc Tuy province. D Company, 5RAR were detached from battalion in March 1967 to help establish the FSB at Horseshoe Hill, which included securing the ground around the area and developing the defences.
