Description

A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This item is a revised version of the leaflet numbered J36. The items J36 and J47 share the same text. The leaflet reports the fall of Buna and Gona and the annihilation of the KUSUNOSE and Yazawa units. It emphasises that the Japanese forces were led into a trap by the Australians and decided to advance through the Owen Stanley Range. It also reports that the Allies attacked the Japanese Navy to break the lines of communication and that the Australians started to push the Japanese back towards the sea after the Japanese were placed into an untenable position.
