Collection relating to the Vietnam War service of Second Lieutenant Garry William Prendergast, First Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, Vietnam, March – December 1968.

Collection consists of one postcard, one newspaper clipping, 14 letters from Garry to family in Australia, and other ephemera. The letters detail being on patrol, life in Vietnam, mail services, the consumption of alcohol, and engagements with Viet Cong. Ephemera includes; an order of service for a memorial service held by 1RAR in Nui Dat, 30 November 1968; telegram and a letter which was sent to Prendergast's family when he was wounded in action; pages of Christmas wishes from his friends in Vietnam; and newspaper clipping about wounded servicemen.

Also included in the collection is information regarding the life of Lawrence Rodney Sheppard, as told by his brother Barry Cook.
