Sensô no nichijô seikatsu e no eikyô [Effect of the war on life of Japanese citizens]
Description
A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to Japan-Formosa. The leaflet is accompanied by an English translation of the text stating that the purpose of the leaflet is to draw attention to the financial effects of the war on ordinary Japanese citizens. There are two sketches printed on the leaflet. One shows a Japanese man with an empty cash box saying, "I have no choice but to visit a pawnshop". The second sketch depicts a long queue in front of a city-run pawnshop.
