Description
A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. The leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to Melanesia and the Netherlands East Indies. It is accompanied by an English translation noting that the leaflet was designed to arouse nostalgia amongst Japanese soldiers. Featured on the the leaflet is a picture of a Japanese farmhouse over which four carp streamers are hoisted. The carp pennants are the customary decorations for the "boys festival" celebrated on May 5 and throughout the rest of the month.
