Kanshajô ittsû kôgun shôhei ni hirô [A letter of thanks: officers and men of the Japanese forces].
Description
A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to Australia and Melanesia. An English translation of the text is attached. The leaflet introduces a copy of a letter of thanks supposedly written by a young Japanese prisoner of war. In the letter, he expresses his heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Australian Red Cross Hospital and praises their devotion which made no distinction between friend or foe.
