Mokka o osoreyo: nettaimitsurin chû saiaku no teki nari [Beware of the Mokka: the greatest enemy in the jungle].
Description
A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to New Guinea. An English translation of the text is attached and notes that the intention of the leaflet is to cause uneasiness among Japanese troops in jungle areas. It is a revised version of the item numbered 7/9/12 J22. This leaflet concerns a tropical disease spread by an insect called the mokka. The tropical disease is called Japanese River Fever. The disease is said to be fatal and is difficult to distinguish from malaria.
