Description

A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to Melanesia. An English translation of the text is attached and notes that the leaflet is designed to induce war weariness and nostalgia among Japanese troops. The leaflet includes a photograph of a Japanese serviceman saluting primary school children on the school ground. The message on the leaflet states that the war may last for 100 years and these school children will be on the battlefield in merciless jungles or aboard transport ships under Allied air and submarine attack.
