Description
A propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. The item is written in Japanese and was distributed to Melanesia and Netherlands East Indies. An English translation of the text is attached. This issue is dated 1 July 1943 and reports the funeral of Admiral Yamamoto, the air battle over Guadalcanal resulting in the loss of 74 planes by Japan, the defeat of the Italians in the Mediterranean, the isolated Japanese troops in New Guinea, the increased production capacity of the US war industries and the declining fertility rate in Japan.
