Minami Taiheiyô Shûhô dai 15 gô [South Pacific Weekly No.15, 11 July].
A propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. The item is written in Japanese and was distributed to Melanesia and the Netherlands East Indies. An English translation of the text is attached. This issue is dated 11 July 1943 and covers the advance of the American forces to Rendova Island and New Georgia Island, the annihilation of the Japanese forces on Vanguna Island, the bombing of Japanese positions in the Salamaua area, the bombing of Rabaul, the bombing of the German industrial districts and Italian military sites, the Allied landing on Sicily and the Allied attacks on U-boats. It also discusses the political situation in Japan and the proposed scheme to train Japanese children for national defence.
