Rising Sun sweetheart brooch : 2/2 Machine Gun Battalion
Description
Gilt brass Rising Sun brooch with crossed Vickers' machine guns above a small triangular battalion colour patch. The King's crown at the center of the Rising Sun has red enamel highlights on a white enamel background. The Vickers' machine guns have been enameled with pale green on the barrel jackets and dark blue on the receivers. The enamel colour patch is a black triangle over a yellow triangle with a grey border. The scroll on the brooch has the inscription, '2/2ND', 'M.G.', 'BN'. The back of the brooch has a small horizontal broach pin attached. There is also an inscription, 'MILLERS LTD', 'SYDNEY'.
