Nihongun shôhei shokun [To officers and men of the Japanese Army].
Description
A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to Nadzab and Torokino. An English translation of the text is attached. The leaflet includes extracts from the International Convention Relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War and guarantees that Japanese POWs will be treated in accordance with the Convention. The message urges the Japanese troops to stop fighting auseless war and to surrender so as to serve their country in the future.
