Description
1731034 Private James Peter (Jimmy) Richmond, 11 Platoon, being stretchered from an APC to a helicopter following his recovery from the Long Tan battle site. Pte Richmond was one of two Australian wounded found by Delta Company of the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR), on its return, twelve hours after the Battle of Long Tan. He was shot twice through the chest and lay all night, face down, at his section post.
