Description

A variety of Australian weapons, including 7.62 mm M60 general purpose machine guns (GPMG), 7.62 mm L1A1 self-loading rifles, 5.56 mm M16A1 automatic rifles and hand genades all used during the Battle of Long Tan. The weapons are all covered in dried mud, splashed up from the ground during the torrential rains that were falling during the battle. Many of the M60 GPMGs suffered from stoppages as a result of muddy ammunition being used.
