Description
A propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. The item is written in Japanese and was distributed to Melanesia, New Guinea and Surabaya. An English translation of the text is attached. This issue reports Honan operations and the situation in the war in China, air raids on Tokyo and its impact on the war industry, the black markets and illegal dealings in Japan, the fierce bombing of Surabaya on 17 May 1944, the consecutive defeats of the Japanese forces in New Guinea, the surrender of Japanese servicemen and the situation in the North and Central Pacific. It also reports the war in Burma and the situation in Europe.
