Description

A pictorial propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War and distributed to New Guinea. The picture depicts a Japanese farming woman and her son working in front of a run-down farm house. The Japanese message on the back of the leaflet states that a family of a serviceman is praying for his safe return. It encourages Japanese soldiers to surrender so that they can live and serve the country after the war. The message also mentions that more than a thousand Japanese POWs sent over to Australia have now regained their spirit and are awaiting the day they can have a fresh start in life.
