Senyû ni tsugu [Address to my comrades].

A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to the Philippines and New Guinea. An English translation of the text is attached. The leaflet describes the unfavourable situation for the Germans in Europe, a string of losses suffered by the Japanese in the Asia Pacific region, the predicament in which Japanese troops have found themselves in New Guinea and the acts of the Japanese government and commanders who betray their soldiers. The message criticises the military leaders who started the war with no hope of winning it and the Japanese politicians who have acted in the interest of the military, bureaucrats and zaibatsu without much consideration to the life of the ordinary people. The author urges his fellow Japanese soldiers to surrender so that they will be able to reconstruct a new Japan where freedom of the people is firmly established.
