Informal portrait of 423132 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) John Desmond Jenner, RAAF, of Sydney, NSW. He enlisted on 20 June 1942 and trained in Canada with the Empire Air Training Scheme (EATS) before joining 251 Squadron, based in Iceland, the only Australian in the unit at that time. He died when his aircraft crashed into the North Sea on 9 November 1944, aged 22.
